Moving in

Income declaration to the building society:

The income declaration is made to the housing agency when moving (can be done before moving
after signing the lease). At the same time, you can agree on e.g. sauna shifts and parking spaces.
The property manager's information can be found on the notice board of each housing association. For the majority of housing associations, the income declaration can also be made electronically via the website of the management office. In connection with the move, it is good to familiarize yourself with the building association's regulations, which can be found both on the notice board and from the property manager.

Notice of move:

By law, a moving notice must be submitted when you move permanently or for more than three months from one apartment to another. The notification can be made e.g. electronically (https://www.posti.fi/fi/henkiloille/muuttoilmoitus) or with a form that can be picked up from the post office and the Digital and Population Information Agency. The notice of move goes to both the Digital and Population Information Agency and Posti at the same time. The notice of move must be submitted no later than one week after the move. Electricity contract:

The electricity contract is arranged with a phone call (e.g. Fortum moving phone.) The connection normally takes place within 1-2 business days, in urgent cases you can get the connection (for a fee) also for the same day. The main switch of the apartment's electrical panel must be turned off in advance so that the electricity company can safely connect the connection.

Home insurance:

The tenant is obliged to obtain extensive home insurance that covers his own
potential harm to movable property. In addition, this covers e.g. possible temporary housing
costs if the apartment is temporarily out of use due to damage. More information is available
